Mike Norvell – Head Football Coach
- Mike Norvell, who has been instrumental in developing dynamic, high-scoring offenses throughout his career, begins his second year as the head coach at the University of Memphis. Norvell was named the Tigers' 24th head coach during a press conference held Dec. 4, on the university campus.
- Norvell joined the UofM family and Tiger Nation after coaching the previous four years at Arizona State University where he was the program’s deputy head coach and offensive coordinator.
- Norvell is married to the former Maria Chiolino of Fort Smith, Arkansas. They have a daughter, Mila, who was born on June 23, 2014.
- "I've known this university and I've known this city. I played college football about two hours away and so I've spent a lot of time here. I'm a big fan of 'Memphis in May.' Every time I've come here and spent time in this great city it has always been the same thing, a family feel. It's a tremendous community that welcomes you with open arms and always makes you want to come back.”

Tubby Smith – Head Basketball Coach
- On April 14th, 2016 the University of Memphis officially announced the hiring of legendary college basketball coach Tubby Smith.
- Coach Smith won National Championship with Kentucky in 1998 and is one of seven active coaches with more than 500 career wins.
- Memphis President David Rudd said, "An historic hire for the University of Memphis. He is the most accomplished coach the UofM has ever hired. For the University of Memphis and our basketball program, Tubby Smith is simply the right guy at the right time."
